    Vortec Heads

im using a set of stock style vortec heads in my s10. im running .534 lift, 1.6 roller rockers, Comp Cams springs (think they are rated for .655 lift). So obviously now im going to need to do some work on them. i need to mod the valve guides to accmomdate my springs and lengthen my pushrod slots. now, i figured while im at it might as well go all the way. can you put 2.02 and 1.6 valves in these? or just the 2.0 and 1.55 that GM uses on the step up vortec heads? also i was thinking of doing a 3 angle valve job cuz i had a 350 that was owned by a speedshop that was pretty basic (flat tops, balanced, fuel injected heads, and a 3 angle valve job) and im pretty sure the valve job made a world of difference. can sum1 tell me what a 3 angle valve job consists of? thanks.

a three angle should be one of the first things on your list. great improvement for your $$$.

ive heard the vortecs dont really benefit that much from the 2.02 and 1.6 valves. also there would probably be a bit of shrouding on the intake valve

It's a good idea to get a valve job done on your Vortecs. I lapped mine to see what I had. The seats were round and matched the valves pretty well, but all of the exhaust valve seats were too wide as well as a few intakes. I decided I could live with it, but this is a pretty mild motor.
