Richard was able to pick-up on this as was I.
I can asure you he is none of those things listed above.
If you go back and read some of his posts you will see it is nothing he has picked up from any hot rod magazines.
You will also see where he makes an apology.
With that being said why don't you make an apology to Richard for all those wild statements.

    Thanks for this, Erik.

I was sitting here trying to put together a response that wouldn't get me kicked off the forum but I wasn't having any luck at all.

You stated it very well, so I'll keep my yap shut.

Richard is one of those guys who ....... well, he knows his stuff, and when he offers advice, people would do well to listen.

    Fair enough.
There are about five guys on here that build performance engines or are involved with some aspect of performance for a living or are semi-retired.
There are also a handfull of ASE mechanics or machinists on here.
Stick around and you will soon figure out who is who.

There sure are a lot of Star Wars analogies on here.

And thank you for the come-back, 555nova. Your words are appreciated.

I could dig up a bunch of threads where major contributors to this forum have fielded serious inquiries from young, inexperienced guys and stuck with them through a long series of postings. Their answers were always courteous and respectful of the fact that the questions were important to whoever asked them. That's pretty much characteristic of this forum.

Man! With your qualifications you have a ton of stuff to offer. We (or at least I) look forward to your input. Check in often.

Well, don't worry. With a few more years of experience you'll understand what some of us are talking about.... Not all of us choose to brag about our accomplishments, but the majority of us are speaking from been there done that experience.... PS..... We were running Roush engines in IMSA in 1977...Nice guy, isn't he????

Nope, wasn't bragging. Just wanted you to know that it was no big deal...Lots of us had different jobs. This forum is more for help and ecourgament to some of the folks new to hot rodding or getting into building their own stuff instead of settling for store bought then it is bragging about who has the biggest or best whatever...

Lots of good folks here with a huge variety in backgrounds and experience all of whom will offer advice without put downs or arguments. Just about everyone here through their life experiences have learned our lessons. One of the most important lessons that I have ever learned is that learning becomes very difficult when you think you allready know it all. I've been fortunate to learn many things from the members here, some with lots of experience, some who were barely 16 years old when they gave the advice. An open mind and a willingness to listen and learn are the best tools I've ever approached a task with....

There is no pecking order or heirarchy at CHR as is the case in many forums. Every post on here should be considered as information offered or experiences shared with no single answer being an absolute or irrefutable... It's all about opinions and everyone here is quite adept at expressing there's without fear of reprisal or put downs..... as it should be on any open forum....
