Alternator Question
I have a '68 Chevy C10, which now has a 350. On the voltage regulator, there is an "F" slot with a blue wire that connects to the "F" slot on the alternator. Can someone check my picture and see if I have it correct. I had to get a new plug and cut wires. May have it backwards. Battery reads 12.6 volts with the truck off and on. Not charging new battery.
Thanks for your help.

The black wire in the picture is an extension of the blue wire coming from the regulator. I will switch them to color coordinate later. Sorry for the confusion. Here is a picture of the voltage regulator. I guess I'm concerned about what would happen if I just switched the plug wires at the alternator (blue and black) before asking someone about it.
Thanks

It looks like your battery wire is going to ground

I think it just looks like the battery wire is going to ground in the picture. The wires won't fit on the wrong bolt because they are different sizes.
I'll check the fuses.
Autozone tested the alternator in the truck and just said it wasn't charging the battery.

I used a test light and the battery side of the alternator is hot with key off or on, reading about 12.5 volts.

Ok, it was the voltage regulator. I bought a new one and now it's all working correctly. Thanks for the help.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
