    TPI and Transmission Info.

Ok Guy's I have a couple of questions , in my 32 Coupe project I'm planning a ZZ4 motor and auto 700R4, How great is a TPI and what whats the hype on the 4L60 trans, ids it that much better that the 700 ? Is the TPI worth the effort ?. Is it difficult to master or work on ? What are the Advantages, Reliability . Thanks in advance. Skiball

TPI is most definitely worth the effort if you want a reliable, streetable machine. You can get more streetable HP out of a TPI and you won't have to dick with adjusting the carb(s) every time the weather changes. I made the switch from carburetion to injection a few yers ago and I will never look back.

The 700R4can be had without a lock up converter as well, for a non-computer of any kind installation.

EFI (electronic fuel injection) comes in several forms - multi-port injection, throttle body injection, etc.

Cost? if you want to open teh box and go, or pretty close to that anyway, carbs are cheaper. If youare willing to work at it, EFI can be cheaper (seacrh web for MEGASQUIRT).

If you are computer phobic and have no computer capable frineds, perhaps carbs are the way to go. (many aftermarket systems require a PC computer hookup for tuning and
    troubleshooting)

If ultimate balls to the wall HP is the goal, carbs may still have an edge, albeit a small one.

I am an EFI fan, and plan to go that way on all future projects...The Camaro is goinf big-buck Holley or Edelbrock (this winter is for reasearch on what i can get) and my old lincoln is going Megasquirt.

EFI beneftis? generally speaking, better driveability, better mileage, better bottom end without hurting top end, easier starting, less emmissions.

Thanks Guy's Ya'll ( Southern for You All) sue did shed some lighton the subject, now I want to save it but when I print it out it cuts off the right side of the page, anyone know how to fix that ? I'd ask streets but he can't spell. The unit I'm interested is the Tuned Port, I have an 88 Surburb. with a TBI and it's been basicly trouble free all these years. Streets that was a lot of information on the subject, so I assume ( oops) your recommending it ? Problem with the ZZ4 and the TPI. I'll be using the Jag rear, not sure of the gear I'll look tonight and let you know.
