IMO, anybody can take 200,000.00 worth of equipment and build a motor, when you get good, you can do it with nothing.Mike

As with any Hot Engine Rebuild, no Guarantee. Once you leave, it's yours.
Make sure it has plenty of 80-90, and a couple cans STP. Don't add 3, it will turn to grease when it cools off.

I must say, some of the men I used to respect and some kids have slaughtered this thread. The whole point was to show how a bigger cubic inch SMALL BLOCK CHEVY would be a better build for a pump gas street engine. You could build it milder, turn it less, have more bottom end torque to run a higher gear, and it would last longer. No one said you couldn't build a 283, just that more cubes is money better spent. I don't care who you are, you will have a hard time and spend more money to build a 283 to hang with a 383 in a 3000lb car on the street running pump gas. Don't tell me you can do it, post the combo.RAY

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
