thats then i`m going to strip her down and look around....thanks for all ya`ll great advice and i`ll let ya`ll know what i find.if anyone thinks of anything else leave a post and i`ll reply the more places to look the better,but i`m going to the oil pan,crank and fly wheel first. thanks again all advice is welcome. i`ll post pic`s of the truck soon......it`s sweet for 86 chevy

well like i said , did u see anything on the plugs? pull the valve covers check inside there first, bent rods? Anything could've happened if he was messing around in there. he could've dropped something down carb. or if he was running it hard he could've over reved it jumped time, cam, dist shaft , threw a valve. Hopefully its something stupid and you'll make him learn how to repair is own toys. good luck and i'd check old oil for metal, might give u a better idea where to start. no metal-top. metal-bottom
In our neighborhood, 2 blocks down the hill was a gas station that (to me) all the cool car guys hung out there. 32 coupes, 33 & 34 Fords as well, a sweet 56 Ford Beach wagon that was setup gasser...
