Roller camshaft
Hi all of you,
I've got another probably pointless question. But it's the first time I'm installing a roller cam and I want to do it right, those things are expensive.
I have a mechanical fuel pump (stock GM) and the cam (a Comp Cams XR258-HR) has a fuel pump lobe on it. Can I use the stock pump push rod or must I use a rollerized or ceramic-tipped one? I've heard that a special push rod should be used, but is it mandatory?
Thanks a lot,
Max
PS: I bought the cam second hand and the previous owner doesn't have any manuals or anything with it. All I have is the spec-sheet and installation guide Comp Cams provide online.
