Will a 1949 4 speed hook up toa 69 vette block?

Weve got this 1949 Chevy Panel Truck sitting in our backyard that has a Inline 6 with a 4 speed tranny in it. Im lookin for a tranny for my 1969 vette engine (The engine isnt in a corvette, its just a corvette engine) and was curious if that 4 speed from the truck would bolt up to my SBC. I tried googling it but only found a bunch of Chevys for sale....

    Thanks

If it's for a performance car, you would not want to use that trans. Not fully synchronized, or maybe not at all, and the ratio spread is bad, with low gear being way too low. I'm not sure if that's a torque tube style, but that would also become an issue, trying to make up a drive shaft. On top of that, I am not sure, but it may have a case that hangs down farther, which might be an issue on a car with little ground clearance.

'paint is right. The only good news is that the transmission is extrememly heavy
and it will keep your car from blowing away in a hurricane.

Try http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/ they probably can tell
you that it wont work.....although you can get an adapter for
    anything these days.

Thats a perfect tranny if u want to do 3 mph at 9000 rpm!!Then wait till 800 rpm til u can shift to the next gear.
Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

the 4spd is more than likely a torque tube, so you would need a torque tube rear for your car just to make it work, secondly, it might hold the power of the engine but, it's a 3spd low trans, 1st is a stump puller gear, 2nd is pretty much what 1st is on a normal trans. you could mate it to the SBC with an adapter tho.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone
