    hey i have a 77 chevy longbed witha spartan 350 crate engine its 4 bolt maine and it has a edelbrock 600cfm carb n i was wondering how much hp/torque will ported heads give me around? and how much do you think i have right now with all the smog on ... i bought the truck with the motor in and im clueless about the specs, also wats the hardest part of replacing the heads ?

    Your motor is probably around 200hp if it still has compression. Dont bother with ported heads, the castings likely on your engine are limited. Buy some s/r heads or something like and a 270-280 /.470 camshaft and some headers. This will give 300-350hp and have some torque to move the weight of that truck. Going bigger with a lopey cam will mis-match your car combo. Good luck...
