    comp XE274

I know I already asked about this cam in another thread but I thought if I had it in the title I would get more replies

I want to know how it will run in my s-10, how it sounds, and maybe a guess on what I could run in the 1/4.

    Here's my engine

    355 10.5:1 compression
RHS 64cc iron vortec design heads, 2.02 1.94 170cc runners
    professional products croswind
    750 speed demon
    accel hei dist./wires
    stock crank and rods
    hedman headers
    flowmaster 40's 2 1/2"
    t-56 6 speed
    3.73 gears

it's going in my 2000 regular cab

    Thanks for the help

It looks like a good match to me and should sound pretty healthy with 10.5 compression and cam LDA of 110 degrees. It's hard to say what it will run in the 1/4 mile, that depends so much on hooking it up out of the hole. I would think if you can get some rubber on it, it should go low 12's pretty easy.

Is 10.5 with iron heads going to work with pump gas?

Cool, thanks man. I was thinking maybe low 12's but wasn't sure....don't know alot about that stuff, but it looked like most s-10's with about what I have were running there.

    well crap....
The guy building my engine said it was just as good as the rpm and yes I liked the looks of it I hate to keep changing stuff, he has already ordered it. Actually he ordered it, it was on backorder, he reordered it and I found out he ordered the satin finish when I wanted polished....so he re reordered it So asking to order a different one would be kinda weird, but hell I might do it.

What would be the best intake then...the edelbrock rpm, or is there something better?

    Thanks for helping me man

the crosswind is a good high RPM manifold, but it just doesn't produce a lot of low end power.... i run the RPM airgap on my mustang, same type of situation. but i keep her above 2500 most the time anyways, so its not big deal......... it really depends on how you're going to be driving it though, if its gonna be for race use mainly.... then you really shouldn't have a problem seeing that from launch and up you're going to be keeping it as close to the redline as possible
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

Im running edelbrock Performer RPM on the setup I mentioned in the other post where i left the video of my car. ... and as for the mufflers... Flowmaster Delta FORCE *2 chamber* 40's... not delta flow *3chamber* is what i have on my car. Buddy of mine has a similar built 350 with the delta flow 40's and i don't like the way his car sounds... his is also 2 1/4 inch instead of 2 1/2

Larry, one of the most important things you can do to your motor is set it up with a very close squish (piston to head clearance). Have your machinist cut the deck of the block or juggle head gasket thickness or whatever he has to do to achieve 0.035" to 0.040" clearance at TDC. You'll be able to run pump gas and dial in all the ignition advance you want if you do that. Trust me.
