Living in Florida, I have thought of using some of these additives, but when I checked into one called something like -40 it was a little pricey, and you needed a couple of them in there to help. I may do it if I still have a cooling problem when I put my '27 back on the road.

Now a side note: There have been a lot of discussions on here about electric cooling fans, and I, and others have ventured the opinion that SPAL brand fans are excellent. Today I want to give testimony to that fact.

Yesterday my Jeep truck crapped out, because the Autozone Electric fan locked up and burned up my ignition switch. (My fault, not fused properly) The fan is 3 years old, so it worked ok for that period, but ever since I built the Jeep with it;s 5.0 Mustang engine, it has run hot. At lights it will get up to 225 and I really like under 200 better.

So when the fan died I remembered we had a SPAL in the shop that I bought on Ebay with a bunch of other parts the guy had, so I installed it on the Jeep yesterday. Not only is it thinner,(my old fan was 1/4 inch from my lower pulley...now I have about 3/4 inches) but man does that baby move the air. The old one pushed about 1400 cfm's this one is 2700, and when you turn it on small animals had better get out of the way. There is a very noticable difference in the airflow, and when I drove the truck home it never got over 180, even while sitting at a fast food drive through, which turned out NOT to be fast.

I am really impressed, and happy, because both my Kid and myself have two brand new aluminum radiators sitting ready to go in our current projects, and both came from the manufacturers with SPAL fans. I know people on here have talked about the Lincoln fans, but if you need a slim fan I would recommend the SPAL with no hesitation.

I mentioned before that at Daytona last year I spoke to a radiator builder (He does all Coddingtons work) and he said SPAL always has tested better than any fan he has tried.
