    Thinkin of buildin a 4.3 need some help.

     



    ok ive got some domes laying around on stock 350 rods will they fit in the 4.3? i thought i heard that something with the rods is different.
    and are refurb'd motors usually bored out??
    and is it true you can buy oversized rings to use stock bore pistons in a overbored cylinder?

    If you're refering to the 4.3L V6, yes, they are different. They have 2.250" diameter rod journals instead of the 2.1" used by the 250

    if a bit loose you can get the pistons knured and you can get a .005 over rings not hi on my list of things i like to do but i have done it on race engines when a guy just dont have 750. for new pistons and i get the bores strait you can get .005 on the pistons easy with the knuring but stock cast pistons are very cheap so i have only done this with race pistons or forgings and yes the 350 chevy pistons do work i have built some 4.3with the 350 pistons

    ill have to see if the bore is still 4.00 inches. if not then im gonna leave the internals stock.
