262 block
I have a 1975 262 sb engine out of a nova with the engine code 355909. Can I build this block into a 383 stroker motor. If so what will need to be done.
Thank You
Corbitt

You could get the crank to fit in the block o.k., but there are no off-the-shelf pistons to use with it, so pistons would have to be custom made and would be prohibitively expensive. If you want a 383, you should be able to locate a good 350 block in your area and then purchase a stroker kit to bolt in....such as this budget kit.....

not only will u not get a 383, the heads they come with are designed around the small bore's and are worse than 305 headsYou don't know what you've got til it's gone
