Thanks guys.Pat,this is the first rebuild, heads have never been off.
29Street-rod,thanks to inherited genetic balding I'm about half way thereBut you just tell people,"God gave me one face,he liked it so well he's clearing off a place for another".
Let me ask this also, instead of starting a new thread. Is there a limit as far as how small of combustion chamber a 'race only' engine can use? I have never heard anything about this in my life.If I shave .010 off these heads I will have about 58cc chamber. My quench is .045,bore 3.905,4 relief flat top piston,CR would be around 10.33:1 like this. This may be fine,I don't know but if most motors perform best with a certain quench .035-.045 most of the time, then what of combustion chamber size, isn't there an optimum size or a limit?Couldn't you get it so small that you could create all kinds of commotion? I realize that dome pistons do this but they start with what, usually around a 64cc chamber?Last edited by shevy not heme; 06-18-2006 at 06:01 PM.
Hey has that thing gotta Heme in it? No, it's a shevy not heme!
The first model car I built was a 32 Ford roadster by Revell in the mid 50's.
How did you get hooked on cars?
