I had a similar problem on the roadster pickup when I built it. I used an alternator mount from "Horton Enterprises" that lifts the alternator a bit higher and swings it over into the area between the top rad hose and the passenger side valve cover. This does not leave a tremendous amount of contact area between the waterpump drive pulley and the v-belt, but I have driven the rpu for 2 summers now, and never experienced any cooling issues.Old guy hot rodder

I've seen some good quality low mount alternator brackets, too.. I usually just fab my own and put the alternator where I want it....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Alt Bracket
I had the same problem on my 39 International. I found a Moroso bracket that bolts on the passenger side that clears the tall valve covers. I am also using a power steering pump from Sweet. It is a gen 2 that I am mounting on the head. If you go that way I have a couple of extra brackets for the pump.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
