SBC motor mounts
I know tis doesnt have to do with the mechanics of a engine but i have a crate 350 years 65-75 and my motor mounts look like they are about 1/2 inch thick rubber probably 1 threaded stud molded into the rubber facing down to my frame mount then it has 3 holes in a triangle formaition for the block to bolt to .
Is this a common mount ? this 350 is in a datsun 280z im looking to find solid motor mounts to keep it from moving . Ive seen engine bars that weld to the frame then bolt to the head or block are these a good option as id hate to try to replace the mounts

That's the common SBC motor mount. Energy Suspension products makes a polyurethane mount that is far superior to the rubber mount. I'm not a fan of solid mounts for street vehicles as the flexible mounts really do dampen loads to the chassis making for IMO more pleasurable ride and less stress on the chassis in general. I would think this would especially be the case for a V8 in a Datsun chassis.

Solid mounts
If you go with solid mounts, I suggest you retain the standard rubber mount on the trans tailshaft. Unless you can make your chassis extremely rigid. If you use solid mounts at all 3 points and you get any chassis flex at all, you will break your transmission case.
Just my experience
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!
Thank you Roger. .
