Aluminum Vette Motor, can I carb it?
I am building a hotrod and I want to use the aluminum block corvette engine. Is it possible to convert this engine to a carburator? I don't want to have to deal with all of the fuel injection stuff, I just want to slap an aliminum intake and a big old carb on it. Can I do this? What will I need? Thanks! ~Sky

As it stands now, what you'll need is a custom intake. Nobody makes a carbed manifold for the LS6......yet.

Steve is correct no one makes a aftermarket intake for this motor.I own a Corvette Z06 w/a LS6 motor. These are awsum motors(405 hp)
The motor has such a high compression that it would not hold together w/out a computer controlled dist advance, fuel ratio & a knock sensor. For more info try:

Look up the "RamChargers" for information. They had a setup like streets is decribing made out of radiator hoses on their first drag car. You'll have to do some calculations based on RPM and flow rates to calculate the length of tube to cut. You want a standing wave with either a node or anti-node (I'm not sure which) at the intake valve. 2500 feet per minute is the ideal flow rate. So, port it so you get 2500 feet per minute at whatever RPM you want to have peak efficiency at.

Edelbrock makes a flat slide carb with accelerator pump for motorcycles that would work quite nicely with that setup. But at $450 per carb, that could get pricey as you would need 8 of them.
