350 POWER
Get a Summit catalogue, and get out your wallet!!!
There are SO MANY speed parts and options for the small block, and for cheap, too.
Summit is good because you have most (if not all) manufacturers products in one wishbook.Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

Vortec heads, the ultimate bolt on. Guaranteed 20-40 hp over any previous production head design, including fuelies. You can get an assembled pair from GM for $550 and the only other parts you'll need are rockers, manifold, and valve covers. Vortec heads on a stock short block with a little extra cam is good for 350+ hp. A stock 73 350 made 260ish crankshaft hp.

The vortec heads are that good? huh, learn something new every day. Anyway, also remember, a custom ram air setup is a good boost for any small block, as long as your carb is set up to compensate. If you leave it at the current settings, it'll run lean. Larget jets are a good cure for this. Also, a hotter coil can help, and good plugs are a must. Never Run a hotter heat range unless your SURE it needs them. I recomend bosh Platnum 1s. Not 2s, not 4s, 1s. There is no real gain for the extra contact points. Plus, lifetime warranties are nice. Anyway, those are a few cheap suggestions that should yield good returns.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

Hmm, strange, i tried them in my 260, and got no gain whatsoever. Man was I "perturbed". I know there is no index, however I have never had a problem with "bounce" ignition (I think) Anyway, I still think that the supposed gain does not validate the cost. And yes, Even before you think it, I am Cheap. After all, I'm on a limited budget. I have an AMC to Feed!Right engine, Wrong Wheels
