If there are any on this board, I would really like to talk to you. The one good thing that has come out of this is that I want to become an engine machinist now. I have been on disability for quite some time now, I applied for voc-rehab and have been accepted. I am going to an engine machinist school in Mississippi. It's at Jones County Junior College and it's a year long. Anyone out there with a shop interested in hiring a disabled vet after I finish this school? It's a year long. My only goal is to be a damn good machinist and get back on my feet. Sorry for the long rant but this engine build has set me in the right direction. Later
I think you just found out the difference between an engine builder and a machinist.
A machinist may know how to bore a block, turn a crank,etc.
An engine builder will know what amount of clearance he is machining for and why.
