Power Steering Box Question
I took the manual steering box out of my camaro and bought an APR power steering box. I quickly learned that the steering coupler doesn't fit off of the manual steering box, so I'm waiting on a new one for the larger shaft power steering box. Do I need to get a new pitman arm to fit the power steering, or will the old one work? Right now it's stuck on the old box, and I was wondering if I should just order a new one? And if so... does it have to be for power steering or are they interchangeable?

You will need a power steering pitman arm to go with the power steering box"aerodynamics are for people who cant build engines"

Thanks for the info... after the pitman arm, the rest of the assembly ie. the idler arm is interchangeable right? I just want to make sure I don't need to order everything down to new tie rods for the changeover to powersteering. I hate getting into something and getting one part at a time to fix it. I'd rather order it all at once.

Idler arm and drag linl and ball joints are okay. You will have to check your steering knuckles that bolt onto the spindles. I know that with the 69 Camaro there is a difference. You will have to check for the 67. You should be able to checkup on this at the same place that you order your pitman arm from. And if they are onto it they should stock them."aerodynamics are for people who cant build engines"

Thanks for the info... I just needed the pitman arm. I should replace it all, seeing that I have the access now, and the rest is already being replaced. But I'll spend that money somewhere else. I just puchased hoses and radiator parts for my car. Hopefully we'll have it driving by christmas. Then all it needs is the paint, the interior, the molding, weatherstipping, wheels n tires, and the other odds and ends.
Thanks for the info
Thank you Roger. .
