i need advice from those more experienced than i
so, i bought this 350 crate engine (4-bolt) with vortec heads from this cat at work. i get the bastard home, pull off the heads & oil pan, the damn thing looks like new (not bad for $250). let's talk performance! i bought a moroso oil pump & pan, that's it to date. i really like the edelbrock performer rpm air gap intake. what kind of cam would i need to make 400hp with these parts? i've built a couple of cars, but this is my first foray into building my own engine, so i kind of know whats going on, and i don't know dick about cams yet. i was thinking of a comp cam? what about carb(s)?

We welcome your question, but please be more respectfull with your language. To answer your question we need to know which crate motor you have & what rpm range you want your power.
Thank you DonDon Meyer, PhD-Mech Engr(48 GMC Trk/chopped/cab extended/caddy fins & a GM converted Rolls Royce Silver Shadow).

Welcome to the forum, and I was going to mention the same thing about his words. I figured being new he thought this was like some other forums where the F word gets used like saying hello.
Thanks for mentioning this to him Don.
