I made the right choice
broke down my block this weekend and found out some amazing things it had already been bored over 0.30 and had possibly reusable forged pistons I say possibly cause due to inexpereince and impatience me and my cousin were not to kind to the first 2 pistons we took out and let hit the shop floor thinkining we were'nt going to need them their dished but dont know how deep yet so if their ok they'll be going back in once reconditioned so i know that 64cc heads would probably give me too high of compression and the 441s are here and are fine what direction should i go now with this 406

if they are dished, 64cc heads should be fine for compression. you will be under 10.5:1 depending on head gasket thickness. Or if you intend on hitting it with any sort of boost. Two pistons that hit the floor, well, stress cracks will disinegrate the piston inside the block when you run it....get them magnefluxed to be on the safe side. Even though you were not intending to use the pistons in the beginning, it is always a wise choice to carefully take out the old parts and inspect them carefully to see how well the machine work was originally done....any scuffing etc. this is a good practice to see how good of a core you are going to be working with.old habits die hard
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
