AFR website
Has any one looked at the Air Flow Research website.
One of there dyno figures shows 465hp with 180cc heads, 9:1 comp,
.480 lift flat tappet hydraulic 230 @ .050. .
Not sure but that seems alot of power for this combo or is it just me.
Any thoughts please.
I build engines for a living. The last 383 i done had 195 AFR CNC ported heads, 10:5:1, 507/510 lift hydraulic cam thats what he wanted i reccomended something around .550 lift with the comp it had. air gap , BG Mighty demon, balanced thats why i raise this question of 465hp
It only made 420 hp at 5800

I've never used any of AFR"S heads except the Ford twisted wedge and matching intake.... Built a 408 Windsor stroker, my dyno results on 3 passes were within 5% of what AFR said it would be..... Guess I'd go with their recomendations on a Chevy too... They've got the R&D time and the dyno results to back it up......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
