I have a 383 stroker putting out about 550 H/P and just wanted to know about the right sized exaust i should use. currently I have 3.5 in. exaust with flowmasters. is this reasonable or what?

What size are your headers? 3 1/2" exhaust seems a little too big. I would assume your header collector size should be 3", and that's the size exhaust you should run. Unless that is a picture of your motor on your Avatar? Is it a blown engine? Then it might be okay.

WE KNOW HOW A GOOD SET OF HEADERS [large steped tube headers]MAKE REAL GOOD POWER W/AN OPEN EXHAUST RIGHT? OK THEN THERES YOUR ANSWER. LARGE TUBE HEADERS 1.750"-1.875" -2.00"(stepped preferebly)to 3"STEPPED TO 3.500 INTO THE FLOWMASTERS THEN SPLIT 2-3.00"-3.500" OUT OF THE FLOWMASTER! NOW YOU HAVE ONE BIG STEPPED TUBE EXHAUST AND THAT WILL SUPPORT UP TO 427CI OR A BLOWN SOMTHING OR OTHER AND YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY A NEW EXHAUST FOR YOU NEXT BEAST. AND IT SOUNDS SCARRY AS HELL.AND YOUR FARFEGNUGGEN IS @10+

Those Are To Small For Some Serious Power, but They Will Work,
You Mill Cant Breath, the Primary Tubes Probably Blocks The Exh. Port. Especially If They Are Ported To Any Extent. Check It Out
