355 build - need to know If I can run this on pump gas
hey guys i am currently building a nice 355 for my dads 78 chevy truck. heres what im going with. has 9:1 c/r which im pretty sure can run 89 no prob but let me know.
350 block .030 over to 355
Edelbrock 600 carb
#882 heads with 1.94's/1.50 (decked, 3 angle, clean job, minor port work)
Edelbrock performer intake
Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 262 hydraulic with 262/270 duration. (218/224 at .050 lift. .462/469 lift
Comp cams Pro Magnum 1.6 rockers
KB hyperutectic flat top pistons
stock rods (at this much horse, do you guys think its neccesary to get aftermarket rods???)
cast crank
GM HEI with MSD coil
9:1 compression
HP: 309 @ 5500 RPM
Torque: 358 @ 4300
Im building this engine as a present for my dad, as he has never had the time to put a new motor in his truck. tell me what u guys think

Should be fine on pump gas, and stock rods.Objects in the mirror are losing
