Forget the 'small block' Get your self a 500 inch Caddy, aluminum manifold, headers, etc. which is almost the same weight! <or> a 455 Olds, Buick or a Poncho!
Be different! How many 'small blocks' do you see at cruises? At the drags?
Put a stick behind it and THEN cruise the strip!
But that's just my opinion.....

I believe it is about 40 pounds less with aluminum heads, probably 12 to 15 pounds additional weight savings for the intake.... Hopefull the Chevy guys with the accurate weights will jump in here.... My experience is with the Ford Windsor's.... Kind of guesstimating on the Chevy stuff.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

to bolt up a caddy to a manual you have to drill a hole in the crank for the pilot bearing
