need som ehelp with a problem

My 377 started popping and carrying on...not bad but bad enough. Sounds like it does when there is water under the cap.
I checked it is dry. Pulled each plug....nothing no smell of antifreeze.
    What might cause this?
My Garage is heated and cooled often and the tank is less than 1/4 full.
Could there be enough condensation in the gas from sitting all winter to do this or something else?
Also changed the coil...still same problem

I would try new gas first ,I have heard this new gas does not like to sit very long at all.I guess the old gas gummed everything up when it sat ,...the new gas just turns into a non flamable liquid that smells funny all the mojo drifts right out of it.I have heard its good to fill er up before parking for any length or time to help preserve the gas for as long as possible by having no air in the tank to evaporate into.
May help ya or may not?
It definatly will not hurt to put a 5 of some good gas in there, maybe pull the line loose and drain as much as you can out of the tank and check all of your filters.I like to blow air backwards thru the filter and see what comes out in a clean white rag.Could be condensation it would not hurt to put a bottle of the gas dyer in there either before parking...or now.
edit: Do you have points? I think those can freak out from sitting too long or having the key on or......

Could be a cam lobe or three goin' south. Check lift at the rockers after you eliminate all other possible causes.

most likely the gas, the newer gas these days doesn't like to sit more than 3 months...... it starts smelling like turpintine and loses most of its combustability... you can get fuel stabilizer when your car is going to sit for an extended time and it will double the life of the gasoline.... i like to put it in and run it for a minute before i let her sit, because when the fuel goes bad it can eat through carb gaskets a lot easier......
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

Does it pop out the carb or the exhaust or both?

just the exhaust...... I tried some carb cleaner and it is getting better.
Maybe carbon on the valve holding it open?

    Springs

Make sure you don't have any broken valve springs.
