short water pump bracket help please!
I have a 1966 elco with a 283 i rebuilt with small cam and headers. The problem is that the alternator belt is rubbing against the shaft of the steering pump. I ordered the correct upper and lower brackets from OPGI and the correct lower bracket for the steering pump. However, the adjuster bracket for the steering pump that they sent me will not fit anywhere. A friend told me that the adjuster bracket that I have is meant to be bolted to exhaust manifolds not headers. Does any one know what to use as a steering pump adj bracket on a short style water pump with the alternator on the drivers side?

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
