Fuel is pouring out of secondarys! What's wrong???

......wow, just when I get one thing settled something else comes up! ..... Anyway, after I shut my engine off I looked in the carb & fuel is pouring out of the secondary's {the back two barrels}. It runs out for about 10 seconds or so & then stops! Any ideas on what's wrong??? THANKS Everyone, Bill

Well, the needle will have a small v shaped neoprene on it, and the seat will hopefully be a circle that the needle will go into. Take the secondary bowl off, raise the float up and blow into the fuel inlet. It should not allow air through with the needle seated. Doesn't take a very big piece of dirt to make one of these little boogers stick!!!! Check it close. At my age and deteriorated vision a magnifying glass is essential!!!!!!

If that isn't it, it will be the rubber O ring that seals the needle and seat assembly.

.....THANKS Everyone, later today I'm going to pull the secondary bowl off & see what I can find. I'll check the needle, seat & O ring. Other than what you guys tell me I have NO idea what I'm doing. I just have visions of all these parts & springs flying out when I pull the bowl off! .... Oh I did read on the Holley web site & a couple of others so at least I know what the needle & seat look like & I see that 4 bolts take the bowl off... Oh I forgot to mention that this motor only has 200 miles on it. Plus it was dyno tuned in September of '06 {where it ran fine} & the Carb Shop rebuilt the carb {Sept. of '06} so I don't think any parts have worn out. The car sat after the fuel cell was installed {installed 2 years ago}. My Dad said that some dirt probably got into the fuel cell then got through the fuel filter & got into the needle & seat assembly.... He's forgotten more about cars than I know. Only problem is the last carb he rebuilt was on a flathead Ford 65 years ago..... Thanks again Everyone! Bill
