Cylinder VE Question
I was running some numbers on a cam overlap setup and found on this particular layout, that the effectual cylinder length ( man I hope I'm 'splainin this right ) was 2.56 inches. I take it that this is the actual closed cylinder length , with both valves on the seat, that the combustion stroke has to work with. Is that correct? If so, on a street engine with a 3.48 stroke, is that a high end use number or the low end figure?? Ready for a lesson here o' knowlegeable ones."oohh...thats gonna leave a mark!"
