    Lifters & Pushrods

I haven't gotten much futher on MY project.. BUT.. I have these pushrods and lifters that I found in my stash. I don't know the brand name of them, maybe they are even OEM/GM but the pushrods are 0.3125" - 0.313" dia. max. and 7.750" to 7.790" Overall Length (OAL). They all have a number on them: RP-3093

The lifters are 0.841" - 0.842" dia.and 1.997" OAL. They're flatbottom. Can send anyone pics soon if anyone wants to help ID them.

I have no idea wether or not these were for SBC or BBC but the guy who gave me them said they came out of a 350 he'd built.

I'd like to get a cam for these.

It's not really a good practice to run used flat tappet lifters on a new cam.... IMO you would be money ahead to get a cam and lifters package and start out with all new components as opposed to a new cam and old lifters......

Ok, yes I can go that route. Thanks for the advice. What engine might use 5/16" pushrods that length?

What is your opinion on new lifters with an old cam? Not trying to be a s.... a.. or anything.

I wouldn't do that either..... $100.00 for a cam and lifters, why risk running the filings from a wiped out lobe through the rest of the engine and killing the hole thing. Cam and lifters can be reused, as long as the same lifters go back on the same lobe, no problem there but using new cam old lifters or vice versa is begging for trouble....

I've heard people talk about that before. I was thinking of getting my camshaft and lifters from CompCams or Crane, and if not from other source.
