I guess it's all relative. I did not find it "easy" to do but I was using standard wire strippers, box cutter, and long-nose pliers to do the job meant for MSD's stripping/crimping tool. If I had to do a set over again I would shell out the $$$ for the right tool.

...THANK YOU, ok I will not be cheap & use the one that MSD sent me! I'll go down to the auto store tomorrow & get a good one! It looks easier looking at those directions versus the MSD directions.... Thanks again, ;0 Bill

Don't forget to check Big Lots, and Dollar General. Some time back, I bought a name brand there for 5.00.

i was always leary of doing the cutting an crimping, but since with the hand crimp tool have done several and come up with a clean set up and wires run the way i wanted. we even tried to get taylor wires for my boys 2001 small ford truck they were not made and we got the wires and put the old non available ends on the new Taylor wires and they came out perfect my boy is sold on this new technique. good luck ed

Me too. I much prefer the diy ends, makes for a much neater installation when it's done right. As others said, just takes the right crimper and a bit more time...

One suggestion that works for me, use a small squirt of WD40 on the boots and they will move a lot easier and just wipe them clean when done.
I ain't never had to much fun but I keep trying.
