firing order is good 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2. could it be faulty wires? they are brand new accel spiral core 8 mm?Last edited by kdogmcool; 06-08-2007 at 01:12 PM.

all seem sparking. could i have an intake leek on the internal side?? sprayed carb clean along runners but now change. is my compression ok?? could i have a stuck or burnt valve? when at an idel it is rich smell out opf the tail pipe on passenger side. a little grayish smoke and rich smell

ya i have recently changed intakes from a edelbrock eps to a edelbrock perfomer rpm. right after i installed it i noticed a loss in power, i figured it was just fine tunning.but could never tune it. The motor is only 1 year old and not even 50000 km on it. my old distribtor weights were rusty and didnt spring back on there own, I needed a new distributor right from the start but didnt put one on till just the other day. it sounds good on idel but has no power when in gear, it seems to just bogg. how often do the power valves in the holly carbs go.

timing is bang on thought that was my problem too. went over that 3 times. yes it is a new holly 670 cfm carb mabey 6 months old. im going to try intake gasket tomorrow. that is when i noticed a change in power. it has gotten worse since then so ill try that. could it be head gasket? is the compession good? it is low on #4&6?

Just a stab in the dark here.......... Did you happen to install a cam advance button on the cam gear? Or possibly a set of cam retention bolts came loose and the cam timing is off? To eliminate this as a possibility, Advance the distributor a bunch and see if this helps. If not, keep going with the intake gasket approach. Just a thought, I've seen it happen a bunch. What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

changed intake gasket but still the same.when it first flashes theres a cloud of white smoke. when i rev it up same thing. head gasket? would that cause me to sputter and loose power if there was coolent getting in the cylinder? havent noticed a loss of coolent. I have dual exhaust so i can see that it is only comming out of passenger side or the even bank. cylinders 4 &6 are low on compression. help

ok finaly got it going..... same thing not responsive, tried adjusting timing, no help. before i started all of this i had put a rebuilt tranny th350, and from day 1 it leaked out of the the little breather hole in the slip yoke. it never leaked on the old tranny (also was a th350). i took it back and they said it wasnt leaking. i assumed thas it was just overfill getting past and leaking out. but then the snow started melting and i noticed lots of transmission fluid all around my yard, i would have to top it up every week. I took it back again and was told that it was a seal from my tailshaft. they said it was good to go now. but it leaked again. could there be somthing wrong there? it seems the more i drive it the more fluid comes out. so it went back and they welded it closed. A friend told me that it could be the tranny pump insalled wrong. should there be fluid there?Last edited by kdogmcool; 06-16-2007 at 10:47 AM.

when the truck is at idle it seems fine runs great but as soon as you put it in gear it seems like there is no acceleration and like it just flattens out, and sounds rough(not the same as it was before). do you guys have any suggestions? should i be concernd about the fluid comming out of the slip yoke?
And a Happy Birthday Wish for Mr. Spears. Hope you can have a great one. :)
