newb here need help with short sbc

    hello yall
i have recently purchased a 406 short block and need your help on the rest of my parts i need to complete

    406 sbc
    polished crankshaft
    2701 edelbrock intake
    10:5:1 forged pistons
    292 comp cam
    jacobs ingition #370506
energy ultra coil & prostreet energy pak from jacobs ignition
the crank is just a stock polished one from a 400 sbc
    casting number reads
    2GM 3951509

the rods are connected to the piston already and my best guess as to what they would be are 5.7

    the tranny is a 350
the rear end is a 4.11 posi
and the car is a 1963 impala
i think ive covered all the parts i have so any help would be greatly appreciated

also im looking for someone locally that can assemble this for me once i have all the parts i need thxs..

"10.5:1 forged pistons".....means nothing unless you know the combustion chambers they were matched to.
Find out the particulars on the pistons before you buy heads. You'll need to know all this in order to match the compression ratio to the cam.

400's used a 5.565" rod as stock, but they could have been replaced with 5.7" rods if they were matched up with pistons having a shorter compression height.

All stock sbc 400's are EXTERNALLY balanced. The dampner/balancer and flexplate must therefore come from a stock 400.
