    307 Water Pump

Gday all, greetings from Australia . So heres my problem i hope some one out there can give us a hand. I have a 1971 307 SBC, now a m8 of mine took the engine out and has lost the water pump, alternator and bracket (looong story) . How the bloody hell do you know what one to put back on. Is it the small or big one? The engine has not been bored out so its still stock if thats any help. The radiator is a PWR Custom Aluminium one. Has anyone installed an edelbrock electric pump yet, if so how do they go? Thanks all in advance

In reading chats on other forums, it has been recommended not to use an electric pump that flows less than about 50 gallons/minute on a strong street car. I suppose if you have a stock motor, you could get by with less. Of course, you have to use an electric fan with them, there is no provision to drive an engine-driven unit. So, if you aren't using an electric fan at the moment, that's additional expense to consider.

brackets for the altenator should be just as easy to find on ebay as well as just about anything SBC.... i know its a little more difficult there to get this stuff...hopefully someday it'll be like the states where you can just walk in a store and have all the parts you could dream of putting on your car, just sitting on the shelf
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

    307 Water Pump

Gday fellas thanks for the replies, actually its quite easy to get Chev parts in Australia. Ok so the electric water pumps not the go, no worries. But what size pump do i have to put back on, is it the short or long pump? and forgot to add that i had a thermo fan on old radiator.

That engine probably had the long pump that had the alternator mounted on top of it. 68s had the short pump and the long ones came out in 69 on passenger cars.
