    327 w/ blower

hello I am currently in the process of stripping down my 68' chevelle for a frame off resto and am thinkin bout rebuilding the 327 that is in there. I do not know a whole lot about it and browsed over some of the other posts on 327's i know that it has the double hump heads. I also want to put a blower on it maybe a pro-street 177 weiand blower. I also am thinking about the trw blower slugs, lunati cam matched to the blower. I read up on blowers from weiand/holleys page and know that i need the right compression, ignition, big enough carb round 700, correct me if i'm wrong cuase i do not know a lot about engines but i'm just starting to gather this stuff. I also know i need at least a 2 1/2 dual exhaust with headers that have 3" inch collectors. Plz help me out here and brainstorm all of the stuff that i will need to prep the block with to match it to the blower! thanks all advice is greatly appreciated!

What can I say other than using a 177 is pretty much just for looks. They provide little boost, complicateyour engine compartment and usually arent as effective as a cheapo high rise four barrel intake. The only redeaming quality one that small would have is their good looks, and if looking good is more important than performance then go for it.

well then if the 177 is more for looks i will have to look at an upgraded model any suggestions? maybe the 8-71, but i want a blower that adds low end power and i heard 8-71 were for medium to high rpm speeds.

A 6-71 will supply all the air you could ever use. Try contacting one of the old blower pros... Don Hampton, Littlefield or Dyers. These guys have forgotten more about blowers than most of us ever knew. You might try looking at a complete engine/blower package from one of the engine builders... "Big Al's Toybox" is one that comes to mind.
