Well, you know my deal on cams.....I still just fill out the sheet and call Comp Cams. They've done very well for me over the years. With the good converter now you should at least be able to get up in the duration high enough to make it still pull on the top end..... How much lift will your valve springs tolerate before coil bind?Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

if your going up that hi i would look at some ligth weight valve train parts i would run thre super 7 valve locks and titanium parts would help and buy the best pushrods and check them at mild lift so there the rigth size .some of this stuff can be found used on Ebay nascar parts and re work it to fitIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

I now it's not a chebbie, but the Pinto wagon with the 289 and 5 speed I had about a gadzillion years ago ran about the same rpm, crossed the line @7200. Was a long time back, but the lift was in the 520's and duration was split, both in the 280's. This was with the cast iron 271hp/289ci heads angle milled to 58cc. Maybe the guru's will know what that mini mouse would want as opposed to my antique blue oval setup!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
