Staggered vc bolts means '55-58. Look at the sides of the block. If there aren't any bosses for the side engine mounts then the block would be '55-57. It may or may not be a 283 at that point. It could be a 265. It's going to take some number searching to find the rest. Let you know if something turns up. Here is a listing of cylinder head casting numbers, you can get that by taking off the valve cover. http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/randysr...Headguide.html
You should make the effort to get the casting number on the block, that will be your best bet. An early block and heads can have some value to the die hard collectors, but you need to verify application. If this is important to you you need to figure a way to get that block casting number.
The T usually stands for the Tonawanda production plant. The numbers and letters that follow tell when it was manufactured. Make sure to look carefully so that you distinguish between the letter I and the number 1.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
