carb upgrade
i have a 68 327 standard no upgrade still using a carter 4 barrel carb. i want to change to a holley. which part # carb should i order and do i need any adaptor plates for the upgrade. i live in the mountains a bout 5000 feet above sea level so does this require any special jetting.

I'm not familiar with Holley numbers these days. But go to the Holley web page and look for a 600 CFM squareboare unit with vacuum secondaries and electric choke. Something like that should do well for you. If you want something that is configured more like your old Carter, take a look at the Edelbrock Performer series. Unit 1406 should do real well for you. Real easy to work on and excellent performance.
