Gassersrule-196 I really like 327 SBs and they can be built to E.T well . In the early 80s I had a gutted out 1969 Nova I would say 3200lbs . I ran a SJ 327 30-over 331 11.1 pop up pistons with a set of 202/160 64CC angel plug GM Turbo heads . And a solid lifter 540 lift cam . The intake was a Weiand team G with a Holley 750 D/P . And for a trans I had a TH400 with a 3800 stall and a 12 bolt with a 488 gear . I think this car was fast and I even broke an axle two times racing it . But I think the best it ran on HP ( I do not spray cars ) Was 12.60s . And I do think thats all It had ! I do know today we have better heads and intakes . But still don't think you would make that car run that much faster on HP . But I did have some fun on the street with that car

I guess i,ll add my limited knowledge to this but yes you can build a 283 or 327 that will scream. In the 60s and 70s we did a lot of street racing (mostly because we were broke from buying parts and the strip was only open on the weekends.) We had some cars that we thought were fast at the time but i can,t remember what times they turned at the strip. Seminole build it the way you want it and don,t worry about what others think (DARE TO BE DIFFERENT.) Hey keep us posted on your progress.
I just wonder what happened to GOVERNMENT of the people by the people for the people?
