350 Chevy With Under-hood Blower
Tango, wanted me to post this thread.
Help him build his 350 with an "under the hood blower".
This is for his Monte.
350 4- bolt block.
#624 heads.
Pick out his rotating assemble, his camshaft, and blower carb and anything else it would need.

This engine is a 1979 350 4 bolt from a truck . Its a clean low mile 350 . The #624 heads are Chevys thinest 350 castings . I am not going to use the #624 smog heads . So just the short block will be used . What Heads camshaft carb do you think would work the best . I was thinking of running the Weiand 144 blower . The car is a 1983 Monte Carlo that is gutted out 3400lbs or less. 2800 stall and a 373 gear .

I have seen on the dyno with a 383, hyd. blower roller cam,8.5 to 1, with well ported double hump heads and a 6-71 blower.
This combo. went 518 hp.
The second idea is a great flowing head will really help the blower work easier.
Then we bolt on a set of 195 cc CNC ported heads from AFR.
The new combo. went 634 hp.

What about cam, what is the rule of thumb there... 383
I believe I read that the 144 will work with 10.5 cr pump gas, high test for sureLast edited by pepi; 12-04-2007 at 08:00 PM.

What camshaft is good for a street blower . Do you need more duration and lobe separation ? I do not want to run more then 510 lift . And I want it to be a hydraulic flat tappet . I think the B/M 144 only puts out 10to12lbs of boost .
