Ok im didnt really understand all of that casue im only 15 but from what i do understand a blower would be a cheaper way and thus wouldnt ruin the sound of my chevelle (i dont think the blow off valve sound from a turbo would go good with a muscle car) Could anybody give me a horse power range if i got a blower. right now i have a 396 with 375 horse power
Whew!! I suspect that you could make about 700+HP (on pump gas) with the right stuff. Blowers make lots of power, but the power comes at a considerable investment. You would have to change pistons, rods, cam & valve-train, completely go through the block (O-ringing is a good idea). A stout bottom end (4 bolt block w/billet caps & steel crank is also recommended). Now comes the blower, drive, manifold, carbs & linkage. 2-1/8" headers, BIG exhaust system, fuel delivery system, MSD ignition, drive line, rear end, up-graded cooling system and a host of things that you never thought of. In the final analysis, $4K. won't go very far I suggest you stick with the basic hot-rod bolt ons for now. Don
