    Fuel Pump Question

I have determined I need to replace the manual fuel pump on my small block Chevy 350. I am running a Holley 670 Street Avenger carb. I have looked at what is available for my engine and see that the prices range from $90 down to $43. I am considering the Holley 80GPH pump. But the Summit or JEGS brand appears to be the same and is at least $20 cheaper.

Does any one have experience with these store brands and are they worth a try? Should I be looking a 110GPH instead of the 80? What is the most dependable brand?

The pumps I have looked at:
    Summit (80) $43 / (110) $53
    JEGS (80) $45 / (110) $55
    Holley (80) $64 / (110) $72
    Edelbrock (110) $90
    Carter (120) $72
    Mr. Gasket (80) $60
    Thanks

Ive used many summit products, including fuel pumps with no problem, actually quite satisfied with their quality. As far as 80gph vs 110, you should be fine with the 80...unless you are pumping out huge horsepower then you need the higher gph...I see you're using a holley 670, so the 80gph is a good choice.

You looking to replace with mechanical or electric?

That JEGS 80 GPH Pump look like a good 350 SB Chevy pump . A pump like that with 3/8" lines from the tank should be enough for up to 400 HP . On a street car with less then 350 HP a good stock type pump will do the job . Summit also makes a 80 GPH SB pump for $42.88 it looks like this .

Any of the mentioned brands are fine - but they are like a lot of other items. There are only a very few actual manufacturers. Jegs and Summit, while usually a bit less expensive then the "name" brands are simply reboxed in the same manner that NAPA does. They are not manufacturers. National brands, like Carter, generally supply these for everyone. So, unless you want a chrome version, a Carter or whatever NAPA/CarQuest/AutoZone sellwill generally do well enough for any street driven car. I usually use a Carter. One word of caution, if you are running 3/8" line, the pump should have an actual 3/8" inlet, not just a fitting.

This is a Carter {with -6 lines(3/8)} that I've polished and added and changed the screws to SS button head and on a FORD
