Keep in mind we are not talking about a 3,000 lbs. bracket car.
I say build a max. effort 383 that makes really good low and midrange torque.
I love the AFR 180 cc heads to about 6,000 rpm's.
Yes,I know they cost $1,400 but they are the best.
My second choice would be the Dart Iron Eagle 180 cc heads.
For cams I really like hyd. roller cams.
With heads that are 180 cc's I would look at hyd. roller cams that are about 220 at .050 and around .525 lift.
With the alu. heads you should be fine by running the comp. ratio up to 10.to 1.

With the chassis set up you have in the truck, 400 to 450 ft lbs torque will work just fine.... A nicely set up 383 as Erik has suggested would really be some nice power for it!!!!!!! I've ran some real raspy big block torque monster in similar setups and they work just fine.... Hook hard when you want to go, and do some wild smoky burnouts when that's what you want!!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
