Would depend on what heads and what level of performance you want, how much lift on the camshaft... lots of things.... or, just rebuild to OEM specs????Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

like the sayin goes i didnt want to count my chickens before they hatch and start asking questions before i had the money. im gonna get 1000 extra dollers to spend on a 350. i was thinking if i could use the same heads, crank, connecting rods and just get them machined with this money. it would be a good start. if i reach 300 hp i would be happy. im trying to do some research first so i know what to expect

if stock heads you are not going to get much out of them for HP with out doing alot of work you need to tell us what you want for HP and go from there you can tie up alot of money in heads if they need alot of work it is a time /money thing i can tell you what that i would charge to go thru a set but that will not help out you need to take them to a machine shop and see if the cores are any good to start with ok i see 300HPIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

i didnt want to get ahead of myself but i think thats what im starting to do. i guess i should explain what i want to do. i dont have the engine yet but i could easily get one from the junk yard. i want to build a 350 with anywere form 300 to 350 hp. it seems like like i need to get any machine work needed before i can buy any parts.i will have a grand to get this started i was planing to use that money to get some of the more expensive stuff like heads out of the way but i think most of that money is gonna have to go into machine work before anything else this is my first build so any help would be appreciated.

let me re explain i have 1000 dollars to start an engine. i dont have the block yet but that's not a problem to get. i would have liked to get the heads and maybe pistons out of the way with this money. but know i think i will have to use this money on machine work before i could buy any parts i would like to use the same crank connecting rods and heads(ported),if it is cheaper then buying new heads. i would like to be in the 300-350 hp range. keep in mind this is my first build so all the help i could get would be appreciated.
