    Aluminum Head Install Question

I will be putting these Canfields on tomorrow and I was just wondering if there is anything I need to know that is different about installing aluminum heads vs. steel jobbers. Washers under headbolts????, or that kind of stuff. Thanks guys.

Aluminum heads need washers , ground washers, under the bolt heads. These help spread the load out. Warm it uo and drive it 30-50 miles then retorque the bolts. Then you are good to go.

Use a good head gasket such as a Fel Pro F 1003.
Make sure you follow your torque sequence and torque them in 5 steps.

Eric, the site calls for a 1406 Fel Pro or equivilant.. Is the F1003 a better choice?.
