383 stroker help
I'm building a 383 stroker small block and in the process of trying to install the oil pan. Thinks don't seem to line up quite right and there are 2 bolt holes in the pan for the 2 rear corners that don't line up with the block.
I know i have the right pan and gaskets for the 1 piece rear main but I feel like I'm missing a piece. Its like there should be a piece that attaches to the same place the 2 piece rear main conversion thing goes. Otherwise there would just be 2 unused screw holes which seems unrealistic.
I've built a 2 piece rear main before and I can't believe it's this different. I can't find this info anywhere and any help would keep me from killing myself out of frustration.
You know where the adapter plate goes on late model small blocks? Thats where I feel like I'm missing a piece. I don't want to convert it to a 2 piece rear main seal, I just need the pan to line up and have the 2 corner bolt holes.
Is there like a like plate that bolts up right there that had 2 bolt holes and mating surface for the oil pan gasket?
Look at theses pictures of its still unclear-
