can someone help with the block identification!!??
I have been on all the chevy sites and trying to identify my motor with the numbers on the block and im going crazy. I was told it is a 305 but i just want to make sure so i can get the proper specs on it.
back of the motor drivers side 5.7 Lt LGI
back left driver side OF165
back passenger side 10243880
underneath left freeze plug H39
underneath right freeze plug 378
does anyone have any ideas?????????

The 5.7 is a 350 cubic in. 305 would be 5.0. There is a machined pad on the front of the block just below the passenger side head. There will be some numbers and a two or three letter engine code stamped at this location. Those numbers and letters will help to identify the engine.

That casting #10243880 is a 1995-00 one piece rear main seal 350ci 2-4 Bolt Main Vortec Truck Roller Camshaft Block .

block numbers response
Brother, you might have just made my day!!! All this time i was lead to beleive that my motor was a 305 and oh ya, its a 350!! I just happened to be looking it over a little closer and there it was, 5.7. Made me a little curious and here we are. im glad you responded because it was eatin at me, but now i know and can actually get some proper specs to go by. Thank-you my Fellow american.
