OK, true. But, you have to realise, there are 20 years of technology between these engines. And there was a gas crunch too. The little 4 cylinder could use some gas mileage to gain power. This engine couldnt.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

the smallest blocks from most of the GM lines diddnt have performance settings. A 4.4 was a 4.4 across the board. There is a good chance, you have 115.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

Hey guys, I have a weekend coming up, a fresh oldsmobile and Im pissed off. Can someone give me this guys adress so I can go, and I quote,"smack the living sh*t out " of him? Matts doing a good project that no one has had a probm with. This kid bareroots has to learn how to work with chevy too. "You can do anything you could do with anyother chvy v8 in regards to standard equip, exceptions would be swapping your heads onto lets say a 350 " WTF is that? Granted SBCs are compatable, but it looks to me like this kid has spent maybe 100hours under the hood, and thinks he's god! And I dont even believe in god! Seniors, Im looking for help on schooling this punk.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

I have never riddden in a 267 powered anything that I thought was even remotely fast. The car my wife had when we were dating was a 79 Malibu, I assumed it was a V6 , I mean...it was really a turd. One day the lower radiator hose blew...I was shocked to discover it was a V8. LOL.. but hey, if you think its fast...have yourself a good time. by the way...what is hella ? Is that an ebonics word ?75 GMC C-15 factory 454, automatic, lowered

i think that the 262 and 267 are both very good motors the bore and stroke on the 267 is 3.5 by 3.48. factory hp on the 267 is 115 with the smogger cam and 2 barrel. drop in a comp cams 268h cam and a 600 cfm 4 barrel a good set of valve springs. then you will have somthing. i have a 267 in my truck out of a 79 malibu. with a comp cams truck 4x4 extreem camshaft and a 600 4 barrel carb. in my 86 monte i run a 262 that runs like a basterd, i run a isky full roller with harland sharp rockers and full length headers. if you have any questions on either of the 2 motors just ask it is all i deal with. good luck jayif you dont need it leave it!

Good questions for a 15 year old. I don't see why you would be busting his chops. Bottom line is you can spend a couple of grand on this motor and have 200hp or you can spend the same money on a 350 and have 400hp. your choice. hp and torque is expensive, how fast you want to go? The better base engine you start with, the more bang for the buck you will see in the end. My opi, dont spend squat on this motor. 350 cores are cheap and easy to locate.
