    305 dish piston cc

I have a 87 305 that is to be warmed over. Does any body have the specs of the stock dished pistons, Also I have conflicting info onthe head ccs 58 or 64 ? casting #14101081. I am looking to figure static compression and these numbers would be helpful
    Thanks Ed

Basic “vanilla” heads used in 1986 to 91 carbureted and TPI 305 engines. Valves are 1.84/1.5 with 58cc non-swirl chambers. The carbureted version was 170HP (Engine Code H, RPO LG4) and the FI version was 190 (Engine Code F, RPO LB9). There was also a 215HP version with a better cam available in certain rear axle combinations (RPO G92 w/5 speed manual).

As I recall, the dish is so deep that there is no need for valve relief in them. The CR was rated at 9.3:1 for all 305 engines in 1987.

    Regards,
    Glenn

Its a fairly deep dish but does have small valve reliefs . 9.3:1 seems high. more like a flat top.
    Thanks for the info Ed

The #081 Heads are 5.0 TPI heads . 1.84"in/1.50"ex Valves 58cc Chambers . If these Heads came off that same 5.0 SB Chevy . It should be the F-Code TPI Roller Camshaft F-Body engine that has near Full flat top Pistons .

    the #14101081 Heads are 1987-95 5.0 305 Heads also used on TPI 5.0 F-Body Cars . The #083's were the 5.7 350 TPI F-Body Heads . The #081's are good Heads for a 5.0 GM Build .
